Text Messaging

To me, text messaging is a convenient tool, but it should not be used as a primary form of communication. Only text someone if your message is short, relevant, and calling is out of the question.

If you have a question for someone who you know is in meetings all day, then text them, because you will most likely get a much faster reply. Otherwise, just call them.

Do not go back and forth with text messages to the same person. Call that person instead and have an actual conversation.

Do not auto-save your outgoing text messages. You can change this in your text messaging settings. There is no reason to keep the text messages you have sent.

Text messages are extremely time sensitive snippets of information. It is highly unlikely you will ever need to reread your texts that say things like, "I'm in the theater. Are you here?"

Do not text and drive. Ever.
